Laminate floors is made up of four layers. a base layer which acts as a stabaliser, a second layer which has an HDF core, followed by a photographic paper image of the finish (oak wood planks, beach, cherry etc.) and then finally a hardwearing and durable laminate coating. The thinner the laminate floor the cheaper it is, however all our laminate floors are hardwearing and have a lifetime guarantee or twenty year guarantee when specifically designed for the bathroom.

Engineered Hardwood Floors
Engineered flooring is made by forming three different layers of wood on top of each other at 90 degree angles, this prevents the wood from expanding. Engineered Hardwood Flooring ranges from 10mm to 14mm, the hardwood element ranges from 1.5mm to 4mm in thickness which give a finish just like real wood flooring.
Solid Wood Floors / Real Wood Floors / Hardwood Floors
Solid wood flooring or real wood floors as it is better known, is produced from natural timber sources worldwide and is widely available in many different species. Solid timber flooring is available in four different grades and priced according to the availability of the species and the quality of the grade required. The four main grades of solid wood flooring are as follows:
Prime/Select floors
This is the highest quality grade timber available consisting of mainly heartwood but also containing a little sapwood. This provides a consistent and uniform appearance of the wood together with a totally unique finish.
Selected grade floors:
This grade has been created to provide a unique balance of both colour & character to your Solid wood floor. It will usually contain heartwood and sapwood and will allow for tight checks, large burs with filled and sanded knots.
Natural grade floors:
This grade of Solid wood floor will contain all the natural characteristics of the wood with many variations in colour.
Peninsula grade:
This is a grade of Solid wood floors that is produced by combining both prime & natural grade flooring. It's formed by using a mixture of a minimum of 65% prime grade and 35% Natural grade .
The most highly sort after species of wood available today for Solid wood floors are: English Oak, American Oak, European White Oak, Natural Walnut, American Black Walnut, Natural Beech, Prime Maple, Merbau, Cherry, & Iroko.
